Problems with video

Continuity

There are little patches of my video which show a lack of continuity. There was a head band on the character at the start however the headband went missing and so it effected the continuity of the rest of the video.

In the final shots, the main character is wearing a coat that had't appeared at the start of the video, however it does not look out of place, most people who have watch my video didn't notice until i told them.

Weather also caused problems with continuity, however most of the time it just couldn't been helped, for the limited time i had shooting when I could get all the gear, charcaters together, i had to make do with the weather i was given. Generally it isn't too bad, however the sun was mainly always accompannied by heavy cloud, which made shooting very variable.  Examples of the heavy cloud is  the 'Phoning friends shot', the other weather problem was the varying wind levels particularly between the first verse and second verse.
Next time round, I would make sure to keep all items involved within the video in the same place, for example a box, so as not to loose any bits. In regards to weather I would make sure to get the bulk of my shooting done within one or two similar days, so not to involve vast colour differences.
Narrative Vs. Performance

My video was a heavily narrative based film, with little time to convey the ideas. So i had a battle between fitting in performance in between the narrative.  I knew there would be this conflict however i underestimated how tight on time for shots i would be. In the end i found myself shooting two little mini-scenes, of the character just singing and playing guitar in two different locations relevant to the narrative. I then aimed to edit these parts into my video, all the time trying not to take too much away from the narrative. However this did effect one scene, in my opinion quite a vital scene, in which the friends meet up. I had to resort to doing jump cuts to shorten a 8 second shot into a 3.5 second shot.
