Filming 3

I am going to shoot the new shots for the idea this weekend, so I've made a shot list to help with the first scene.

Opening

- Before the music starts i will have an introduction showing the car breakdown.

 - An establishing shot of the road, the car will come from behind the camera and pull in, in front. ( possibly use varied focus) 10-15 seconds.
- A pan from the right, hopefully tracking with a car going in the same direction, the car now situated in at the side of the road will come into shot from the left. As camera slows to stop, with the whole car in shot, the driver of the car will emerge, get out( check bonet) and then walk off to sit down. 20-25 seconds.

The music now kicks in;-

-There will be yet another establishing shot, making use of sun glare, showing the driver now sat down. ( shot from the characters left)
- I will then cut to a long shot of the driver on the phone ( speaking to his friends who join the narrative later).
- Then I will show a siloette style shot from a low angle behind the driver, ( looking frustrated).
-  the camera will now be on the characters right, he will start singing, looking directly at the camera.
 - I will cut back to the phone shot, but this time have the character walking towards the camera, with 3-4 edits breaking the long walk up, to make it snappy.
- For the lyric , " In the hope of saving me" , i am going to have a the camera track through the grass, and pan upwards at the character, who is now standing looking forlorn and singing the lyric.

After this point i will cut to the bridge, i would like to possibly spin the camera round on the final few seconds of the opening and at the start of the bridge, and see if i can merge the two shots in a 'trippy style' edit.

Post shooting

- The shooting went fairly well, however i did come across a few problems. When i got back to the media room to edit i found some shots were slightly out of focus, but most were still OK. I will try to get out in the next few days to redo some of the shots, particularly the first establishing shot.
- Another problem i had was a faulty tri-pod which made the Pan shots very difficult, as the tripod kept jumping and it was hard to get a consistent smooth shot.

Ideas - 3

Due to a few issues with organisation and work conflicts, ive had to make a few adjustments to my general idea.

The first verse will start with a car breaking down containing the main character, this scene will be set at the side of the road and continue until the Bridge.

The bridge + chrous will bring new charcters to the video, these will be a group of friends + band members who the main charcater is meeting up with. however they will be in a different location,m and so i will cross cut to this scene.

In the second verse, the two groups will meet up and then further travel towards the end location for the second chrous and outro. This outro scene will be  set in a cofmtable enviroment, such as my friends cabin in which we all meet up anyway in real life. Im going to make the end scene into a party set at his cabin.

Poster - Final

This is the poster for my Track, yet again i have tried to keep within the conventions of the genre as much as possible. The poster itself is fairly simply allowing as much attention to be drawn to the Album name and also the band name. I had a few issues with using leaves as a background however, this was because the leaves provide so many different shades, tones and colours that it was impossible to read the writting clearly on most of the poster without changing the colour of the text constantly. This is why the text is bound to the green leaf on the left hand side.

Digi-Pack - Final

This is my final digi-pack piece, I tried to keep within the Genre of folk music, with a laid back style with warm and fairly soft colours. I also tried to relate my digi-pack as much as i could to my video, for instance the use of the sun-glare shot on the back cover of my digipack. My favourite  section of the didgpack is the frontcover, although i wish i could lowered the band name by about 8-10mm, but i lost my original copy of my digipack and so i could not edit past this unless i started from scratch.

Feedback

Dan Coulston - I like the warmth potrayed in the digi-pack, my favourite parts being the back and front cover because the photos which expel this sense of warmth and good feeling. I feel the track does correlate with the digi-pack.

Dan Finn - I thought there was good use of colours in the pack, however i thought the middle section ( the sillouetted trees and the sunset) looked abit out of place in comparison to the other pages.
